The Aledo Leaf Problem
If you have live oaks, post oaks, pecans or cedar elms anywhere near the house — and in Aledo, that's most lots outside the newest subdivisions — your gutters fill up twice a year. Spring brings oak tassels and pollen strings that mat together into a sponge. Fall brings the leaves themselves. Our micro-mesh guard is a surgical-grade stainless steel screen bonded to an extruded aluminum frame. The frame hooks the front lip of the gutter and the back edge slides under the first course of shingles, with no fasteners into your roof deck. Installed at a slight pitch, the mesh sheds debris with the wind and rain instead of piling it up.
Installed Right, or Not at All
Most gutter-guard complaints come from guards laid flat on gutters that were already sagging or clogged. Before we install a single panel we check that the gutter is pitched, sound and securely hung, and we clean it out completely. If your gutters need re-hanging, we'll say so — a guard on a bad gutter just hides the problem until the fascia rots. Guards install with new seamless gutters as a package or on existing gutters that pass inspection.

Guards on Metal and Tile Roofs
Metal roofs are increasingly common on Aledo's custom and acreage homes, and they shed water fast enough to overshoot a standard gutter in heavy rain. We pair guards with 6-inch gutter on metal roofs and set the mesh angle to catch sheet flow. Concrete and clay tile roofs get a slightly different mounting since there's no shingle to tuck under; we'll look at yours and quote the right attachment.
What It Costs
Gutter guards are priced per linear foot and depend on the product, the roof type and how many stories we're working on. It's more than a cheap screen and far less than the national brands you see advertised on TV, which are largely paying for the advertising. We'll quote guards alone or as a package with new gutters, and the estimate is free either way.
