Why "Seamless" Is the Whole Point
Sectional gutters from the hardware store come in ten-foot pieces that get snapped together with slip joints and sealant. Every joint is a future leak. Texas sun bakes the sealant, thermal expansion works the joints, and within a few years the drip line under each connector stains the brick and washes out the bed below it.
Seamless gutter is rolled from a single coil of aluminum right in your driveway, cut to the exact length of each run — 12 feet or 60 feet, it doesn't matter. The only joints on the whole house are at the corners and the end caps, and those get riveted and sealed with a high-grade gutter sealant. Fewer joints means fewer leaks, less maintenance, and a cleaner line along your fascia.
What Goes Into Our Installation
Any two gutter companies will quote you "seamless aluminum gutters." What you're really buying is how they're hung, how they're pitched, and how the water gets to the ground. Here's what's in ours:
- Heavy-gauge coil. .027 aluminum standard, .032 on request. Thin .025 "builder grade" coil dents when a ladder leans on it; ours doesn't.
- Hidden hangers with screws, every 24 inches. No spikes and ferrules. Spikes work loose in the fascia as wood moves with the seasons — that's why older Aledo homes have gutters bowing off the house. Screwed hidden hangers bite into the rafter tails and stay put, and they're invisible from the ground.
- Real pitch. About 1/4 inch of fall for every 10 feet toward the downspout, set with a level. Too flat and water stands and breeds mosquitoes; too steep and the gutter looks crooked against the fascia line. On long runs we pitch from a high point in the middle toward a downspout at each end.
- Sealed corners and end caps. Corners are mitered on site, riveted, and sealed inside and out. We use commercial-grade sealant that stays flexible through 105-degree summers.
- Downspouts where the water needs to go. Standard 2x3 or oversized 3x4, with the outlet placed so it discharges away from the foundation — not onto the AC pad or the neighbor's fence line.
- Clean lines and clean-up. Downspouts follow the corners of the house and are strapped every few feet. We haul off old gutter and metal scraps and leave the beds and driveway the way we found them.
Sized for the Roof, Not the Catalog
Gutter capacity is a math problem: square footage of roof draining into the run, roof pitch, and rainfall intensity. Aledo sits in a part of North Texas that regularly sees an inch-per-hour rainfall from spring storms. A 5-inch gutter handles a typical single-story roof plane comfortably. When one gutter run is collecting from a large hip roof, a steep 8:12 pitch, or a metal roof that sheds water almost instantly, we move up to 6-inch gutter with 3x4 downspouts. Newer homes in Walsh and Parks of Aledo with big front-gable roof planes and long rear runs are the most common place we recommend 6-inch. If your current gutters overflow at the corners during a heavy rain, they're undersized or under-drained — and we'll tell you which.
Colors That Match the House
Coil comes in more than 30 baked-enamel colors. White, almond, clay and brown cover the traditional brick homes off Bankhead and FM 1187. For the painted white brick, board-and-batten, and dark-trim homes going up across Aledo, we stock black and dark bronze — the gutter disappears into the fascia and the downspouts read as a clean vertical line at the corners. What an Install Day Looks Like
- Arrival and tear-off. Old gutters come down, fastener holes get filled, and any bad fascia we flagged on the quote gets addressed.
- Roll and hang. The gutter machine rolls each run to length from coil. Hangers go in, pitch gets set, corners and caps get sealed.
- Downspouts and discharge. Downspouts get cut and strapped, elbows sealed, and extensions or splash blocks set so the water lands where it should.
- Hose test and walk-through. We run water, check every corner, and walk the house with you before we leave.
